Here By The Sea And Sand

Oh, what a darling dress we have here - Butterick #3074. The photo on the left shows as it appeared in The Delineator Magazine, June 1921.

Frock features a straight skirt attached at a slightly low waistline, with or without blouse body lining. Options are given for long fitted sleeve, 3/4 length cuffed sleeve, or short cuffed sleeve.

Make this up in gingham, chiffon, or linen for a summery look. Charmeuse, satin or taffeta would dress this up, or gabardine and heavier cottons would lend a more utilitarian look.

Interestingly, gingham seems to be the fabric of the season as references are made in many of the fashion catalogs. Kalburnie Gingham (Boston MA) advertised it as 'not your old-fashioned, ordinary gingham, but new designs with a freshness to bring out the winsome sparkle of youth and make you look your best'.

This reproduction sewing pattern is available for purchase here.
